Inside Out

Here's a nice pic of the kitchen area . . .

The sidewalk was poured today (color was charcoal gray and integrated right into the concrete) and I put a special "secret" texture on it! Our concrete guy thought I was crazy, but he loved the result!

The Nutter Green Home logo embedded into the concrete.

Finishing Touches to the Grade

Here you can see the trenches that we've dug for the downspout inlet to the cistern, as well as the outlet from the sump pump in the basement. In the background are the kids playing and Kenny and his brother, CJ, are working on drilling the hole through the foundation for the supply water line from the cistern to the house.

More Drilling

Kenny and CJ drilling through the foundation for the rainwater supply line.

We're through!

An unusual method for drilling the counter top - but it worked out fine!

Sidewalk!

Daniel Heckman from Big D Construction came today and formed up our sidewalk and front porch. He is going to pour the concrete on Tuesday. The walk will gently slope up to the front door so that the front entrance will be wheelchair accessible!

Recycling out Metal Scraps

We had hoped to show you some photos of our trailer full of metal roofing and siding scraps and us unloading them at the metal recycling place, but for some reason, when I took the picture below, one of the workers quickly informed us that we were not allowed to take any pictures while on their premises. (What's that all about?)
So even though I have no other proof, you'll have to take my word for it that we had about 400 pounds of metal that we recycled that day. They paid us around $20 for it - not much, but at least we didn't have to PAY $35 to take it to the landfill.
